Picometers (pm) describe atomic radii and X-ray wavelengths. A hydrogen atom is ~53 pm wide. Used in crystallography and semiconductor engineering. The hectometer (hm) is useful for measuring sports tracks (1 lap = 4 hm), urban blocks (~1–2 hm long), or vineyard rows. Road signs in some European countries use hectometers for minor distance markers.
To convert between Picometer (pm) and Hectometer (hm), use the following formulas:
1 Picometer (pm) = 1e-14 Hectometer (hm)
1 Hectometer (hm) = 100000000000000 Picometer (pm)
100 pm = 100 * 1e-14 hm = 1e-12 hm
500 pm = 500 * 1e-14 hm = 5e-12 hm
1000 pm = 1000 * 1e-14 hm = 1e-11 hm
5000 pm = 5000 * 1e-14 hm = 5e-11 hm
Picometer (pm) | Hectometer (hm) |
---|---|
100 pm | 1e-12 hm |
500 pm | 5e-12 hm |
1000 pm | 1e-11 hm |
5000 pm | 5e-11 hm |
10000 pm | 1e-10 hm |
