The Rod (or pole/perch) was historically used in land surveying and agriculture. Measuring exactly 16.5 feet, rods were commonly used to define property boundaries. A standard American football field is 320 rods long (including end zones). This unit still appears in some property deeds and agricultural measurements. Astronomical scale (Moon's orbit = ~0.38 Gm). Useful for space agency data but rarely searched by the public.
To convert between Rod (rd) and Gigameter (Gm), use the following formulas:
1 Rod (rd) = 5.0292e-9 Gigameter (Gm)
1 Gigameter (Gm) = 198838781.51594687 Rod (rd)
1 rd = 1 * 5.0292e-9 Gm = 5.0292e-9 Gm
2 rd = 2 * 5.0292e-9 Gm = 1.00584e-8 Gm
5 rd = 5 * 5.0292e-9 Gm = 2.5146e-8 Gm
10 rd = 10 * 5.0292e-9 Gm = 5.0292e-8 Gm
20 rd = 20 * 5.0292e-9 Gm = 1.00584e-7 Gm
50 rd = 50 * 5.0292e-9 Gm = 2.5146e-7 Gm
