The Rod (or pole/perch) was historically used in land surveying and agriculture. Measuring exactly 16.5 feet, rods were commonly used to define property boundaries. A standard American football field is 320 rods long (including end zones). This unit still appears in some property deeds and agricultural measurements. Used in planetary science (Earth's diameter = ~12.7 Mm). Also for long-distance fiber optics or satellite measurements.
To convert between Rod (rd) and Megameter (Mm), use the following formulas:
1 Rod (rd) = 0.0000050292 Megameter (Mm)
1 Megameter (Mm) = 198838.78151594684 Rod (rd)
1 rd = 1 * 0.0000050292 Mm = 0.0000050292 Mm
2 rd = 2 * 0.0000050292 Mm = 0.0000100584 Mm
5 rd = 5 * 0.0000050292 Mm = 0.000025146 Mm
10 rd = 10 * 0.0000050292 Mm = 0.000050292 Mm
20 rd = 20 * 0.0000050292 Mm = 0.000100584 Mm
50 rd = 50 * 0.0000050292 Mm = 0.00025146 Mm
